1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the JustChat service, you confirm that:

• You have read, understood, and accepted these Terms of Service
• You have read and accepted our Privacy Policy
• You are at least 18 years old
• You commit to following the rules of conduct set out below

2. Service Description

JustChat is an online ephemeral chat service that allows users to communicate in real time in public rooms.

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service at any time, with or without notice.

3. Using the Service (Without a Permanent Account)

3.1 Temporary Sessions

To use JustChat, you create a temporary session by providing:

• Username: Unique, between 3 and 25 characters
• Gender: For display personalisation
• Age: To verify you are at least 18 years old
• Location (optional): Information visible to other users

You commit to providing accurate information. Your session is active until you disconnect.

4. Rules of Conduct

By using JustChat, you commit to using the service in a respectful, lawful, and appropriate manner.

1. Illegal or harmful content:
   • Post, transmit, or share any illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, or discriminatory content (racist, sexist, homophobic, etc.)
   • Share pornographic, violent, or publicly inappropriate content
   • Encourage or incite illegal activities
2. Harassment and intimidation:
   • Harass, intimidate, threaten, or cyberbully other users
   • Post personal information about others without their consent (doxxing)
   • Create a hostile or toxic environment
3. Spam and advertising:
   • Send spam, unsolicited, or repetitive messages
   • Post unauthorised advertising or promotional content
   • Share fraudulent, phishing, or malicious links
4. Impersonation:
   • Impersonate another person, entity, or organisation
   • Falsify your identity or affiliation
5. Technical attacks:
   • Distribute viruses, malware, or any harmful computer code
   • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or computer systems
   • Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the service
   • Use bots, automated scripts, or scraping tools
   • Circumvent rate limiting or anti-spam filters
6. Abuse:
   • Return after a ban (circumvention)
   • Use the service for commercial purposes without our written authorisation
   • Collect or store personal data from other users

5. Moderation

JustChat implements several moderation measures:

5.1 Automatic Moderation

• Word filter: Automatically blocks certain content
• Rate limiting: Maximum 10 messages per minute per user
• Anti-spam: Automatic detection of suspicious behaviour

5.2 Human Moderation

We reserve the right, but are not obligated, to:

• Monitor user content and activity
• Remove or modify any content at any time, without notice
• Ban your IP address immediately if you violate these Terms

Important: Moderation is carried out by real people (not AI). We rely on community reports to maintain a healthy environment.

6. User Content and Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain intellectual property rights over the content you share on JustChat (your messages).

By posting content on JustChat, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and transferable licence to display and distribute your content solely within the scope of operating the service.

6.2 Our Intellectual Property

The JustChat service, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and software, is protected by intellectual property laws.

7. Ephemeral Messages and No Guarantee of Retention

Note: Other users may take screenshots. Do not share sensitive or confidential information.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The JustChat service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind.

We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• Messages will be retained or recoverable
• All defects will be corrected

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• Loss of messages, data, or content (due to the ephemeral nature of the service)
• The behaviour or content of other users
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your transmissions
• Temporary or permanent unavailability of the service

10. Banning and Termination

We may ban your IP address, at our sole discretion, without notice or liability, for any violation of these Terms.

Given the ephemeral nature of the service (no permanent accounts), there is no formal "account deletion". Your session data is automatically deleted upon disconnection.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with Swiss law.

Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Geneva, Switzerland.

12. Modifications to the Terms of Service

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. The "Effective date" at the top will indicate the most recent changes.

Significant changes will be notified on the site. By continuing to use the service after the effective date, you accept the revised Terms.

13. General Provisions

• Entire agreement: These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and JustChat
• Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force
• Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision
